Brooklyn War Memorial

At the base of the Brooklyn Bridge (on the Brooklyn side) rests Cadman Plaza Park.  In the park is the Brooklyn War Memorial, a monument I have walked by hundreds, if not thousands, of times.  A few weeks ago, with my Canon AE-1, I stopped to consider this memorial to the 300,000 men and women from the Borough who served in World War 2.  On one side of the structure is the figure “Victory.”

On the other is “Family”

Grateful, I stood there for some time thinking about those Brooklynites and others in their generation who made sacrifices, which I cannot fully comprehend.

Both pictures taken with a Canon AE-1 using Kodak Gold 100 film, expired in 2003.
